General terms and conditions for online booking and purchase

Depending on the type of fare, service class, length of stay at the destination, special offer, etc., you can book one-way or return flights.

If you select a fare that requires you to use the tickets in a specific order, please bear in mind that if one of the segments is unused or used in any order other than that foreseen in the ticket, you will be liable to pay, for any segments used, the price required for the actual itinerary taken at the time you made your reservation. This price will reflect the prevailing published fares and may be verified if you attempt to reserve the itinerary taken as an individual booking. If this price exceeds that shown on your ticket, you must pay the difference before attempting to use the remaining segments.

Most fares that are subject to restrictions do not allow refunds or changes, or else do so subject to service fees.

Name changes for seat and/or ticket bookings are not allowed. Please take special care when entering the names and surnames of passengers, as these must match the names shown on the documentation required at the airport on the day of the flight. If the ticket details do not match those shown on this documentation, the passenger may not be allowed to board the plane.

If more than one booking has been made on the same flight for the same passenger and the ticket has not yet been issued, they might be viewed as duplicate bookings and therefore cancelled without prior notice.

Ticket issuing fees, as well as flights changes and refunds are applied to each passenger on the reservation; the amount of the fee is the same for each of the passengers. Issuing fees for each ticket purchased will be determined according to the fee rate of selected flight.

Tickets may only be paid for using credit/debit cards accepted by Iberia Express.

  • Visa
  • American Express
  • MasterCard

In accordance with Spanish regulations on means of payment, Iberia Express informs that an additional charge of 2% will be applied to purchases made on with corporate cards.

So that we can correctly verify the identity of cardholder, that person must show the card at the check-in counter on the day of departure, as per prior notification. We only need to verify the card upon the start of the journey (not required for connecting flights or the return flight). Passengers that fail to comply with this requirement will NOT BE ALLOWED TO BOARD unless they purchase a new ticket at that time.

If you are notified during the purchase process that you must show the payment card at check-in and you know you will be unable to do so, you should NOT use that card.

Apart from exceptions at certain origins-destinations*, tickets acquired through our website are in electronic format. These tickets are issued automatically and the charge is made directly to the payment card provided on the purchasing page.

If your bank does not authorise the charge on your payment card, we will notify you via e-mail so that you can check that the details you have supplied are correct and provide us with a new payment card if necessary.

*In some countries of departure, the procedure for charging cards and issuing tickets may vary. In these cases, you will be instructed how to proceed during the purchasing process.

PayPal is a fast and secure payment method for booking your flights at Your reservations will be protected at all times without sharing your bankcard or account details.

More information

The petrol surcharge will be reimbursable, pursuant to the terms of the rate. You can view the cancellation conditions on this page.

Residents of these places are entitled to a 75% subsidy on ticket issuing fees.

What is the resident discount?

The Spanish government extends a subsidy on regular air transport services for residents of Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. The discount is available for citizens of Spain, of another European Union member state, of other countries in the European Economic Area (currently Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or of Switzerland, that are able to prove they are residents of the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla and are travelling between the place of residency and any destination within Spain.

Persons meeting the above criteria must evidence that they are residents by showing a national identity document (DNI) (Spanish citizens) or a certificate from the central foreign residents' registry (Registro Central de Extranjería) indicating their address in one of the places for which the subsidy is offered (citizens of a European Union member state, a country adhered to the European Economic Area Agreement - currently Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein - or of Switzerland). Residents whose national identity document (DNI) does not show an address in a place for which the subsidy is offered and minors without a DNI must show a valid residency certificate issued by their town or city council.

Iberia Express is required to verify the identity of anyone holding a ticket bearing a subsidy for large families or residents of the Canary or Balearic Islands, at the time they check in and/or board. It is therefore necessary that all beneficiaries of these subsidies carry document(s) showing that they are entitled to the subsidy (document evidencing residency, certificate evidencing large family status, etc.). Alternatively, a certificate of residency or a certificate from the central foreign residents' registry (Registro Central de Extranjería) may be used.

The large family discount is applied directly when booking on our website.Simply tick your particular category and apply the discount code when purchasing your tickets.

  • Large family (General) → 5% discount
  • Large family (Special) → 10 % discount

The discount must be expressly requested by the passenger, and will apply to regular domestic flights issued in Spain as from 1 January 2007 and to all domestic routes.

The discount will be applied against the amount shown on the ticket, except for in the case of Business class fares, where the discount is limited to the amount corresponding to a complete economy fare package ticket.

If a passenger is entitled to both a resident discount and a large family discount, both discounts will apply.

Large family discounts may not be applied retroactively.

The discount may also be applied against ticket issuing fees, with the same maximum limits as applied for the resident discount. In order to apply the large family discount, all passengers travelling under the reservation must be entitled to the discount. If any of the passengers travelling under the same reservation is unable to certify that they are entitled to the discount, that person must make a separate booking.

Remember: You are required to certify that you are entitled to the large family discount. Large family status must be accredited through an official large-family certificate or an equivalent personal document, currently in force and issued by the corresponding regional government. The certificate must be valid throughout the duration of the trip. Please keep the certificate with you at all times, given that you must present it at check-in and when boarding. Iberia Express will deny boarding to passengers holding tickets with large family discounts if they are unable to certify large family status.

The discount only applies to flights departing from or arriving at airports in Spain.

In order to ensure the security of transactions made via this website, Iberia Express performs certain procedures in respect of the payment card information provided by passengers. These procedures must be completed before tickets are purchased and the booking is considered finalised.

Iberia Express reserves the right to refuse requests to purchase tickets if payment is attempted using a card that does not pass the airline's fraud prevention control measures.
