  • The BullRing

This shopping centre is virtually a must in Birmingham. It stands out for its modern architecture and was opened in 2004. The typical photo is the one tourists take with the bull after which the centre is named. The building housing the Selfridge’s stores is characterized by the organic amoeba-like forms of its architecture. These metal discs were created by Future Systems and their creators were inspired by Paco Rabanne's fashion.

  • St. Philip’s Cathedral

Built in the early 18th century, it is one of the most beautiful historic buildings in the city. A baroque building, admission is free and you can see the work of pre-Raphaelite artist, Edward Burne-Jones. It is also known for its stained glass windows depicting the Ascension, Nativity, Annunciation and Last Judgement.

  • Birmingham Library

Not the same as the Central Library, it is recognizable from the outside by its textile-like appearance and the various floors, with the appearance of a huge cake. Decorated with blue, black and golden colours, it is topped by a golden tower. Despite its recent construction, it is the largest in the UK, contains one of the two most important Shakespeare collections and is fully sustainable.
